Afterglow Lip Love Lipstick Review

Afterglow Lip Love Lipstick Review

Would that Afterglow had a better sample plan so that more people could try it and sing of its praises. However, despite a slightly elevated price tag for a single tube of lipstick, Afterglow’s Lip Love brand of lipstick is clearly one that truly understands, and addresses, the struggles of women with sensitive lips.

Let’s start with all the gritty details that makes this lipstick one of the top choices for sensitive lips. Not only is it without talc, but it is free of lanolin, parabens, bismuth oxychloride, animal byproducts, soy, and gluten. It uses natural ingredients to create a thick-coating, highly-pigmented lipstick.

Yet their certifications don’t stop there. It seems the brand goes out of their way to check all those little extras off that you enjoy when buying quality cosmetics. This includes being certified as both cruelty-free and fair trade as well as boasting an organic certification.

While they are certified organic, some of those organic ingredients have the potential to irritate, namely the use of beeswax, jojoba seed oil, and candelilla wax. However, on the plus side it does use organic aloe vera as a lip moisturizer, so even if you have an allergic reaction, the lipstick may serve to soothe it slightly.

There is no arguing that Afterglow Lip Love lipstick isn’t a great product for sensitive lips, but how does it make sensitive lips look? It comes in a decent selection of 13 different colors in a variety of finishes including matte, shimmer, and sheer. While the colors don’t go too out there (there’s no neon for you, sorry) they do run the gamut of dark and skin tone complimentary to lusciously attractive.

Because it is so highly pigmented, it makes your lips look great and the addition of the different waxes makes it not only stay on, but provides your lips with protection from the elements and the sun. Unfortunately, in order to keep the fresh look, you may need to apply it more than once per day. It is also worth noting that once you remove the lipstick, it will still leave the color stain behind. Although, that could be seen as a boon if you wanted to don a more natural look later in the evening.
