L.A. Girl Velvet Contour Stick Bronzer Review

L.A. Girl Velvet Contour Stick Bronzer Review

For women who are sensitive to mica or talc, finding a bronzer without either borders on impossible. Well, at least when it comes to powder bronzers. If you want to escape the shimmery world of mica and talc, you need to aim your search toward bronzer sticks like the Velvet Contour Stick by L. A. Girl.

Unfortunately, even with bronzer sticks, you still need to check the ingredients. Luckily, the L.A. Girl Velvet Contour Stick Bronzer is completely free of mica, talc, and parabens that can irritate skin and cause breakouts.

While it does use oils like jojoba and grapeseed as well as cocoa seed and shea butter, for those that aren’t sensitive to those particular ingredients, you get a wonderful bronzer that goes on easy and leaves behind a soft powdery finish for perfect contours. However, as with all bronzer sticks, you need to be careful how much you put on. A few small dabs on your contour areas can go a very long way. It might take a few test runs to get the amount down if you aren’t used to bronzer sticks.

However, one thing you may notice is that this bronzer doesn’t have the same shimmer as other models. It has some, but this is meant for blending for a glow, not shimmering in the sun. It is also worth noting that it is usually mica that gives bronzer that shimmer anyway.

While the easy application and the fact that is doesn’t have the skin-irritating ingredients of other bronzers is amazing, that’s not even the best part. L. A. Girl has a whole collection for all your contouring needs. Although they are sold separately (at a perfectly affordable price) the collection include three tones of highlighters, 10 shades of blushes, and three bronzers. This means that if you know what you are doing, you can make your face look like a completely different person with the right contouring strategy.

Gathering the whole collection isn’t necessary, but it is nice that you do have the option to get different shades of blush and highlights without having to find another product line that doesn’t clash with the bronzer’s tone or having to do the tedious checking for mica and talc.
