Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Gel-Cream Review

Dark circles? Puffiness? There is just no escaping it sometimes. Unfortunately, no matter how much make up you slather around your eyes, that won’t make these things go away. However, with the right eye cream, you can treat them so you can look great when you decide to put your face on. However, the thing about eye cream is that you want to be very careful it doesn’t irritate. The sad truth is if you pick eye cream for “sensitive eyes” it is pretty much just the same stuff as other products but with 20 dollars knocked onto the price. The real talk is that all eyes are sensitive, so most eye creams are okay for sensitive eyes.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Gel-Cream is one of the cheaper eye creams on the market but don’t let that put you off, it is also one of the most effective. However, the problem is that it is all about retaining moisture in the eye so they look fresh and dewy. In order to do this, there is no special natural ingredient that can do it, but rather they rely on a series of chemicals and synthetic liquid plastics that do it. Surprisingly, these ingredients are not only effective, but strangely non-irritating. They allow for superior moisturizing to the eye, and the gel nature of the whole product is soothing as all get out, but it also allows the sensitive skin around your eyes to breath, making irritation less likely.

While there isn’t a natural sounding ingredient in the list here, it does use hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring acid on the skin that help moisturize. Typically this ingredient is responsible for moisturizing the eye while the others lock that moisture in.

Sometimes Neutrogena has a few misses when it comes to sensitive skin, but this isn’t one of them. In fact, if your eyes are irritated, the cooling nature of the gel might just be good enough to sooth it. This is one eye cream that shouldn’t be non-irritating with all its chemicals, but ended up just fine. It is proof that just because you aren’t paying $40 for an eye cream specifically for sensitive skin doesn’t mean it isn’t going to work. Of course, we all have to realize that all skin is different. So while it didn’t affect my eyes, it might effect yours.
